Genius Tools Tamperproof Star Bit Sockets 1/4" Dr.
Tamperproof star screws look like regular six-lobe fasteners but have a raised pin in the middle to keep out ordinary bits. These Genius Tools Tamperproof Star Bit Sockets have a matching hole in the tip, so they slide over the pin and drive the screw from a 1/4" drive ratchet.
The series includes ten sizes, T-7, T-8, T-9, T-10, T-15, T-20, T-25, T-27, T-30 and T-40, each in 45mm, 70mm, 100mm and 140mm overall lengths. Technicians use them on appliances, public fixtures, vehicle trim and equipment housings fitted with security screws.
Each socket is made of High Speed Tool Steel. The bored tip leaves less steel around the lobes, so a hard tool steel is a practical choice for keeping the profile intact through repeated service work.
