GT-SPARK-PLUG-SOCKETS-12DR
  • Spark plug sockets for 1/2 inch drive, deep enough to reach down the plug well and seat fully on the plug hex.
  • Two sizes with 6-point openings: 16mm (5/8 inch) and 20.6mm (13/16 inch), the common plug hex sizes.
  • The 6-point opening grips the flats of the plug hex firmly, helping avoid rounding when a plug is tight.
  • Both sockets are 70mm long, giving good reach while still fitting a 1/2 inch drive ratchet in the engine bay.
  • Made of Chrome Vanadium Steel, the material printed for the Genius Tools 1/2 inch drive accessory page.

Genius Tools Spark Plug Sockets 1/2" Dr.

Genius Tools Spark Plug Sockets 1/2 inch Dr. are dedicated sockets for removing and installing spark plugs with 1/2 inch drive tools. They are made deep enough to clear the plug insulator so the socket fully engages the hex.

Two sizes are available, both with 6-point openings: 16mm (5/8 inch) and 20.6mm (13/16 inch). These two sizes cover the plugs used in a large share of cars, trucks and small engines. Each socket is 70mm long.

The 6-point opening bears on the flats of the plug hex and holds securely when breaking loose a plug that has been in place for a long time. Using a 1/2 inch drive ratchet gives plenty of leverage on stubborn plugs, especially in larger engines and equipment.

Both sockets are made of Chrome Vanadium Steel. Pair either size with a 1/2 inch drive extension when the plugs sit deep in the cylinder head, and keep the matching swivel version for plugs at an angle.
