Genius Tools Metric Hand Sockets 1/2 inch Dr. are standard-depth, 6-point sockets for 1/2 inch drive ratchets, breaker bars and torque tools. The 1/2 inch drive is the size most mechanics choose for suspension, wheel, engine mount and chassis fasteners, where higher turning force is needed.
This series is unusually complete. It offers thirty-four sizes from 8mm to 41mm in single-millimetre steps, covering everything from small brackets up to large axle and hub nuts. Socket lengths run from 38mm on the smallest sizes to 55mm on the 40mm and 41mm sockets.
A 6-point opening contacts the flat sides of a hex fastener. That spreads the load and lowers the risk of rounding corners, which is why 6-point sockets are preferred for tight, rusted or high-torque fasteners.
Each socket is made of Chrome Vanadium Steel. Buy single sizes to replace lost sockets or extend a 1/2 inch drive set into the larger metric sizes.
