Genius Tools Metric Deep Impact Sockets in 3/8 inch drive are made of Chrome Molybdenum Steel, a material chosen for its toughness when used with impact wrenches. The deep 63mm body reaches nuts that sit far down a stud or bolt.
The series covers 6mm to 22mm in 1mm steps, 17 sizes in all. That includes the sizes used on most cars and light equipment, such as 10, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 19mm, plus 20, 21 and 22mm for larger hardware.
A six point opening bears on the flats of the fastener for a secure grip. Typical jobs include suspension bushings, exhaust studs, brake hardware and threaded rod, anywhere a shallow socket would hit the threads before reaching the nut.
Use them with a 3/8 inch impact wrench for speed or with a ratchet and extension for hand work. Single sizes are available, so you can replace a missing socket without buying a whole set.
