When a small nut sits on a long bolt or stud, a standard socket bottoms out before it grips. Genius Tools Metric Deep Hand Sockets with a 1/4 inch drive solve that with a 50mm deep body that slides over the thread and seats fully on the nut.
Thirteen sizes are available from 4mm to 14mm, including 4.5mm and 5.5mm. The range matches the small metric fasteners found on vehicles, motorcycles, electronics enclosures, appliances and light machinery.
The 6-point opening bears on the flats of the fastener, helping to protect the corners of small nuts that can round easily. The extra depth is also handy for reaching fasteners set down inside a recess or behind a panel.
Each socket is made of Chrome Vanadium Steel, a common alloy for hand sockets because of its strength and wear resistance. Use them with any 1/4 inch drive ratchet or extension.
