Genius Tools Long Taper Line Up Punches

Genius Tools Long Taper Line Up Punches solve a common assembly problem: two holes that do not quite line up. Push or tap the tapered end into the holes, and as the taper goes deeper it draws the parts into alignment, ready for a bolt or pin.

The series is made of High Speed Tool Steel, as printed in the catalog, so the slim tips resist bending and wear during alignment work and light driving.

Seven punches are offered. The 2mm and 3mm tips are 200mm long with a 100mm taper. The 4mm and 5mm tips are 250mm long with a 130mm taper, and the 6mm, 8mm and 10mm tips are 280mm long with a 150mm taper. Body sizes (H) run from 5/16 inch to 3/4 inch.

Mechanics use them for lining up engine and transmission mounts, exhaust flanges, body panels and brackets. Pick the tip size that just enters the smaller hole and let the taper do the rest.
