Genius Tools Forged Retaining Ring Pliers

Genius Tools Forged Retaining Ring Pliers are made for snap rings, the spring clips that hold bearings, gears and pulleys in place. Their tips fit the holes in the ring ears so you can open or close the ring evenly and lift it in or out of its groove.

Two types are offered. External pliers open when you squeeze, spreading rings that sit on a shaft. Internal pliers close when you squeeze, compressing rings that sit inside a bore. Each type comes with straight tips or 90 degree bent tips, the bent version helping when you must work from the side or behind a part.

Every combination is offered in four sizes: 125mm (5 inch) with 1.3mm tips, 175mm (7 inch) with 1.8mm tips, 225mm (9 inch) with 2.3mm tips and 300mm (12 inch) with 3.2mm tips, sixteen pliers in total.

Choose tip size by the ring ear holes and length by the ring size and available room. The 7 inch versions are also sold together as the catalog RP-5504 4 piece set.
