A straight extension only works when you can line up the tool with the fastener. Genius Tools Flexible Extensions have a flexible shaft that curves around hoses, brackets and other parts, so you can still reach screws and small nuts that sit at an awkward angle.
The series offers two lengths, 170mm and 300mm, both in 1/4 inch drive. The catalog lists them as 1/4 inch drive, 1/4 inch hex shank pieces in the GA-015A accessory set, so they combine with hex shank drivers and ratcheting screwdrivers.
Use the 170mm version for moderate reach with good control, and the 300mm version for deep or winding paths. A flexible extension is best for spinning fasteners on and off; finish tight fasteners with a rigid tool.
Both extensions are made of Chrome Vanadium Steel. They are a handy addition to a 1/4 inch drive kit for anyone who services engines, appliances or machinery with crowded layouts.
