Genius Tools E-Star Hand Sockets 3/8" Dr.
External star bolts, often called E-Torx, appear on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and seat mountings in many modern vehicles. Genius Tools E-Star Hand Sockets with a 3/8 inch drive are sized for the mid-range of these fasteners.
The series includes seven sizes: E-10, E-11, E-12, E-14, E-16, E-18 and E-20. Moving up to a 3/8 inch drive allows more torque than the smaller 1/4 inch drive sockets, which suits these larger bolts.
A star-shaped opening fits the lobes of the bolt head exactly, spreading the force and avoiding the slipping and rounding that happens when a hex socket is forced onto a star fastener. Lengths of 28mm to 30mm keep the socket compact.
Use them with any 3/8 inch drive ratchet or extension. A deep version with the same seven sizes is available for star bolts on long studs or in recesses.
