Genius Tools Claw Hammers
The Genius Tools Claw Hammer is the everyday hammer for carpentry and household work. One end of the head drives nails, and the claw on the other end grips nail heads so you can lever them out or pry boards apart.
This series is made of Chrome Vanadium Steel, as printed in the catalog. That alloy gives the hammer the toughness to handle constant striking and prying.
Two sizes are offered. The 1 lb head hammer is 330mm long and is easy to control for trim, cabinetry, light repairs and hanging fixtures. The 1-1/4 lbs head hammer is 335mm long and delivers more force with each swing for driving bigger nails in framing, fencing and crating.
If you only keep one hammer at home, the 1 lb size is a sensible all-rounder. Tradespeople who drive a lot of nails may prefer the extra weight of the 1-1/4 lbs head to finish each nail in fewer blows.
