Genius Tools Ball Peen Hammers
Genius Tools Ball Peen Hammers are the classic metalworking hammer. The flat face strikes punches, chisels and pins, and the rounded ball peen is used to shape and peen metal, set rivets and round over edges.
This series is made of Chrome Vanadium Steel, as printed in the catalog, giving the head and handle the strength needed for repeated striking on hardened tools.
Five weights are offered so you can match the hammer to the job. The 1/2 lb (280mm) and 3/4 lb (300mm) hammers are ideal for light punches, layout work and small rivets. The 1 lb (330mm) hammer is a versatile everyday size for the workshop.
For heavier blows, the 1-1/2 lbs (350mm) and 2 lbs (380mm) hammers drive larger punches and chisels and handle heavier peening. Many mechanics keep a light and a heavy ball peen side by side.
