Alloy wheels often have deep, narrow lug nut holes that a standard socket cannot reach without scraping the wheel. Genius Tools 1/2 inch Drive Thin Wall Deep Impact Sockets are designed to allow easy access to recessed wheel nuts where space is limited, and an additional outside plastic sleeve protects the rims while the nuts or screws are turned.
The plastic sleeves are changeable, and each size is colour coded for quick identification: 17mm with a yellow sleeve, 19mm (3/4 inch) with a red sleeve, 21mm with an orange sleeve and 13/16 inch with a blue sleeve. That mix of metric and SAE sizes reflects a special design for American, European and Japanese cars.
Each socket is a 6 point, 1/2 inch drive deep socket, 86mm long, made of Chrome Vanadium Steel. The 6 point opening grips the flats of the nut rather than the corners, which helps avoid rounding. Choose the size your vehicles use, or keep all four colours in the tire bay.
